The membership of this club shall include any band member, alumni, parent, or other person interested in the progress and development of the Bunker Hill High School Band program.
Only parents and legal guardians are eligible to hold an office or have voting rights.
Article II - Officers and Elections
Section 1 - Officers shall include a President, one or more Vice President, one or more Secretaries, and one or more Treasurers, and such other s as the Executive Board shall find necessary and as shall be elected by the membership.
Section 2 - These officers shall be elected annually from nominations by the nominating committee and from the floor.
Section 3 - In the event the office of President shall become vacant, the Vice President shall become President. In the event any other office shall become vacant, it shall be filled at the next regular meeting by a majority vote of the membership.
Section 4 - Officers shall be elected at the May meeting and shall take office in June. At that time all records will be turned over (Bank records, minutes, Post Office Key, etc.)
The by-laws may be amended by a quorum as specified in Article VII, Section 3 of the by-laws. Amendments must have been presented in writing at the preceding regular meeting, shall have been mailed to all members prior to the next regular meeting.
Article IV - Duties of Officers
Section 1 - The President shall preside at all meetings of the club, appoint all committee chairpersons, and preside on all committees.
Section 2 - The Vice President shall assume all the duties of the President in his/her absence and the President may assign other duties as needed.
Section 3 - The Secretary shall keep the membership records and minutes of all meetings
Section 4 - The Treasurer shall receive all monies accruing to the club and shall deposit it in an approved depository under the name Bunker Hill Band Boosters. The treasurer shall keep an accurate and complete record of all receipts and disbursements.
Section 5 - The President and Treasurer shall be authorized to sign checks.
Section 1 - The Executive Board shall consist of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Band Director, and School Principal.
Section 2 - The Executive Board shall have general supervision of the affairs of the club, and shall meet 30 minutes prior to the regular monthly meeting.
Section 1 - The Nominating Committee shall consist of 5 members, two appointed by the President and 3 elected by the Executive Board at the regular January meeting. The committee shall make its report at the March meeting.
Section 2 - There shall be the following standing committees: Chaperone; Uniform; Newsletter; Phone; Fund Raising; Props, and such others as the Executive Board shall find necessary
Section 3 - The fund raising committee shall submit their plans to the Executive Board for approval before submitting to the membership for final approval. This committee will consist of parents and band students and a minimum of 6 band students.
Section 1 - The regular meetings of the club shall be held on the first Tuesday of every month.
Section 2 - Special meetings may be called by the President or Vice President with a minimum notice of 48 hours.
Section 3 - A quorum for all meetings shall consist of at least __________members present, after members have been notified by telephone and/or newsletter prior to the meeting, and must include the President and Vice President.
Section 1 - All funds created under the sponsorship of the club shall be deposited by the treasurer in an approved depository.
Section 2 - Approval of the Executive Board shall be required for the disbursement of any club funds
Section 3 - A budget shall be approved at the August meeting by the club membership. The President shall approve emergency expense not included in the budget. Such emergency expenditures shall be limited to a maximum of __________.
Article IV - Financial Reports
Section 1 - The treasurer shall be required to prepare a monthly financial report, and an annual financial report. These reports shall become a part of the permanent records of the club.
Section 2 - Copies of the above mentioned financial reports shall be filed by the Treasurer with the Executive Board and the club membership.
Section 3 - The year end financial report will be submitted by the outgoing Treasurer and given to the current fiscal year treasurer when all records are turned over.
